*this is so embarassing*

When i listen to Lady with the spinning head, at the start i always hear

"here she comes
lady luck again
figure of 8
69 again"

eek.gif

This will look even weirder tomorrow.

Well, considering the real lyric is "SIX and NINE again" I don't think you have too much to be ashamed of. Bono, on the other hand...

Ummm.. I have this problem as well.

Perhaps we should start a club?

"You must not look down on someone just 'cos they are 14 years old. When I was that age I listened to the music of John Lennon and it changed my way of seeing things, so I'm just glad that 14 year olds are coming to see U2 rather than group X." - Bono, 1988

I have a really embarrassing story about that lyric.

------------------
Your sun so bright it leaves no shadows, only scars
Carved into stone on the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes

Yeah...he meant that...
A friend of mine was listening to Landslide in my car the other day and she swears a line in it is:
"Can a child with a hard on ride a Mo".
Anyway.....

Well??

Ah, this story. Well, first you must realize that I am a very innocent person. There are a lot of things I don't know and a lot of jokes I don't get. I actually believe that ths is a good thing. But I'm a bit less innocent than I used to be, I think that's inevitable with the passage of time.

Some years ago a male friend of mine who also loved U2 made a tape for me with some U2 stuff I didn't have, including the Lady with the Spinning Head dance remix. I had been a U2 fan for longer but he had gotten into them very fast when he started liking them and he liked their 90's stuff much more than I did. I loved the song--it is still one of my favourite U2 90's songs. I was sending him an email and I said something in it about the lyrics like "But what does '6 and 9 again' mean? Is it a bingo reference or something?"

Honestly, I just did not know! As far as I remember he didn't answer my question. Maybe he didn't know himself (I think I was 17-18, he was 18-19), maybe he was kind and chose to spare me the embarrassment. Maybe I embarrassed the heck out of him. I'm not even sure when I actually found out what it meant--I don't think it was till quite some time later--but at some point after finding out I also remembered having asked that question and now realizing just how embarrassing it was. Even worse from my perspective because of the fact that I'm female and he's male.

So is that embarrassing enough for you?!

Actually, it's Bono's fault, someone needs to keep an eye on that guy!
