Got to agree about Toronto's 'prettiness' here - the first time I ever came to Toronto, I came with extremely low expectations because I'm a Westerner and we're taught to hate Toronto from the moment we're born
Anyway, on my first trip here, being a water-lover, I made a beeline for Lake Ontario, took a ferry ride around the Islands, walked around the waterfront and fell in love with the city on the spot. I kid you not, I requested a transfer to T.O. the moment I returned to Ottawa.

I know Toronto's waterfront has got a long way to go before it's even developed to the same level as Chicago's, for example, but I do love that there are so many beaches, boardwalks, opportunities for water activities, etc. And the city is in the process of revamping the waterfront so I've got high hopes.??

In the summer, I would go sit at the Lake (10 minute walk}, and it's so vast and open, it sometimes felt like I was looking at the ocean

I live really close to the water too and I'd do that often. And my office actually faces south so I see the sailboats and the shimmering water on a sunny day with the Island in the background. It's actually really pretty.

Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods so that there is something for everyone.

My office building faces south, too and yes, the views of the Lake are stunning
