I drove to Detroit for a concert (by myself) and in one area I swear all the buildings looked bombed out. That was definitely an Oh shit! moment. :crack:
That's what happens when a city goes from 2,000,000 residents to 800,000.

Detroit gives us the super-chic WWIII look of the future, today.

Thanks for the replies so far, everyone - it looks like I'll be wearing a bulletproof vest everywhere I go, or something.

Oh and with regards to the TSA thing, I'm ready for it. An Indian guy and an Asian guy travelling together? We'll hit every single 'random' check that exists in a US airport.
