Oh, I meant the Hawaiian beaches.
And don't forget the 40s. Even though Austrians like to deny it.

that's why i picked this photo, but because of the lay of the land this was the furthest away i could get without losing the lake to stuff in the foreground.
yeah, that was the only bad thing about that place. well, and all the climbing  but take this photo for example that we took of the artist's palette:

since you can't take an aerial shot or anything, it's pretty and all but stock photos such as this are better:

plus then the name of the thing actually makes sense.

Wow - I love everyone's photos!

I was visiting my parents for a week, and on Saturday night, we had a massive thunder and lightning storm that went on for about 6 hours. It was pure craziness. I took these pictures about 2 or 3 hours into it. The pictures don't even do it justice - it was so beautiful outside.

The rest of these were taken later on. You can kinda see a bolt of lightning there in the last one:

It was a beautiful storm to watch.

I'd love to get some lightning photos. I just don't have a good vantage point here at my home (the area's so flat!). :) Now if a storm were to come in off the ocean, I could be at any of 4-5 beaches in about 15 minutes - but then the problem becomes 1) having a dry, secure place to shoot from, 2) timing of the storm v/s my availability, and 3) being skilled enough to capture something that happens in the blink of an eye!! :camera:
