So many fantastic photos in this thread! I myself am usually too lazy to take my camera to concerts because if I do, I just end up trying to get as good shots as possible and that pretty much ruins the concert experience for me. I'm simple like that, can't really concentrate on more than one thing at a time...

Anyway, I got some ok pics from the Vertigo show in Copenhagen.

Wow, very, very nice, Ava! So are your pictures of the kitten. What kind of camera do you use?

I just got my daughter an 8.0 megapixel Canon with image stabilization for her birthday, and I took over her old, crappy Sony 4.0. I wasn't exactly wowed by the pics on her new camera so far. Maybe I/she needs to mess with the settings to increase the quality.

Thanks VP I actually have a crap camera, it's an old Olympus Camedia C-310 (3.2 megapixel). Well, it used to be good back in the days when it still was new, but not anymore. As soon as I have enough money I'm going to get a great new camera.

You'll have to use one of the manual modes, and it's best to wait for the white lights.

Thanks for that. I remember you helped me last time, and that's the only reason why my White Stripes photos didn't come out as a mass of blurs! I couldn't find the post where you mentioned the shutter speeds, though.

Great photos, everyone. Those Weird Al shots are crazy.

Lies, very nice compositions and clarity!

I just realized as well that I only have U2 concert pics. Anyway, I took mostly video (once I discovered how to use it) because my ISO wasn't high enough to get clear pics.

And look who I found lurking around...

Any time, Steph. The image gallery in the article shows the settings used for about 24 shots - ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc. So that should help - for closeups 1/80-1/125 seems to be average. Shutter priority mode is good. Keep in mind that most recent compacts with high megapixel counts seem to be noisy/grainy in low light (no flash). Larger cameras or dslrs are better with noise reduction.
