I spent a week in Sydney in 2008 and really really enjoyed it. Canberra is more like a small country town compared to any of the other Cities I've been to. I had to laugh at the Casino that just reminded me of a local Pub in Shepparton with a gaming room and resturant. I did really enjoy my couple of days there, however and would definitely go back. Probably not the 6 hour drive again, without air conditioning, though!

going to America (aka southern California, Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Vancouver & Banff) really got me thinking more about travel. i kept a 30-40 page diary. yet even in my own country i've never really seen anything.

Yes, Canberra really felt like a glorified Naracoorte or Murray Bridge to me, but there's no denying that the touristy stuff there is pretty great. And the malls were really clean, relatively empty... it was actually unsettling in a way. I enjoyed my time there, though. The War Memorial is an essential visit if you're touring around the country.

Meetup might be a goer! Though ny level of alcohol consumption at Pyramid is yet to be determined... I'm in the inner east at the moment, kew area, but the plan is to live in the CBD for a few years in the late twenties, yuppie style. The dream! Kinda lucky that I study in the city so I spend a lot of time there, 3 hour seminars evolve into 10 hour day's doing random stuff in the city, Tis a good life! Do you study in the Western subs?

i didn't drink a lot last year at Pyramid... i've never really drank day & night continuously in my life before, grand final day excepted.

that's awesome, no wonder you love the city. yeah i'm in the Western Suburbs, and if i want to buy anything we've got a huge plaza 10 minutes from my house, which defeats the purpose of travelling into the CBD. on top of that i go to uni out the back of Geelong.

why do the ATO and Centrelink make it so fucking hard to a) just get forms and b) file them? i spent about 20 minutes with that stupid automated bitch on the ATO number and still got nowhere.

also, when i was in hospital, i woke up one night and couldn't sleep til they gave me more endone. so i watched this thing called the Leyland Brothers. i don't really have anything to say...

I probably wouldn't want to live in Sydney but I sure love visiting and can never get enough of the harbour area. I always end up going to Taronga Zoo - I've been there many more times than the Melbourne Zoo

I look forward to exploring Brisbane when I come over there in December.

i was just amazed. they spent like six hours sitting in a tree with these massive cameras hoping for a glimpse of a tree kangaroo or something.
