Andrew sucked. I wouldn't recommend riding out a storm over a category 3 to be quite honest. Our doors were blowing in during Andrew and my dad had to nail a piece of plywood over the door and moved all the couches in front of it to hold it all in right in the middle of the storm. And the eye was over 20 miles away from my house!

Good luck!

OMG how frighting is that.. I've never gone through anything that bad.
Glad you made it out ok..
It's pretty calm right now. Just a squall every now and again. Typical sideways rain but nothing too drastic, yet.

I've been through Andrew, Katrina, and Wilma (she was a B*TCH!!!)

Good luck and prayers to all the gulf coast

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it COULD have been, but being in Texas vs. Indiana this time around made it a lot more real for me, so it was nice to get a bit of a laugh today when I was listening to the traffic report on the radio:

"I35 is backed up on the way out to Louisiana, obviously. HOWEVER! It is NOT safe to go back yet people! Turn around!"

maybe it was in the delivery, but the way the guy said this, I IRL LOL'd
