That food looks so delicious!!

Boston Pizza is kinda meh. There are SO many better options out there. Then again I've never had pizza there, as I'm lactose intolerant, so maybe it's just the other non-pizza stuff that isn't as good.

I was in Seattle this weekend, so on my way home I stocked up on all my favourite goodies at Trader Joe's. Hot damn. They only had one of the type of naan I like, so I snapped it up. I wish there had been more. Tonight for dinner I had that dipped in their hummus and also made a salad. Perfection!!

Speaking of hummus... Has anyone ever had Fava Bean hummus, sometimes called Egyptian Hummus? OMG!
They use Fava Beans instead of chickpeas. It's got a more smokey, woodsy flavor than regular hummus.

I love all types of hummus, so I was curious when I read that MN Twin Joe Mauer likes turkey wraps with Edamame Hummus. It sounds pretty good.

I've got to get the food processor out and get to work.

just a little something I whipped up yesterday afternoon for a dinner party last night...

chicken caesar salad with homemade dressing, orange sesame wild rice, fruit, garlic bread (not in photo) and a lime cheesecake. Plus we had pink lemonade and white wine. Perfect light meal on a very hot summer night.

^Yummy!

I finally went to the Kona Grill last night.

The fish and such were great, but they had Salted Caramel Creme Brulee for dessert!

I should have taken a picture, but we jumped into it as soon as it hit the table.

Looks amazing, arw!

I made homemade chicken noodle soup last night. It was so simple, yet really tasty.

super easy...make a cheesecake crust with graham crackers, sugar, and butter. Put a tablespoon on the bottom of each cupcake paper and use the spoon to press it down so it's even. Any chocolate cake batter from scratch or a box mix. Then after it's done the top is just marshmallow cream that's torched with hershey bar on top. I've worked at other places that instead of the crumbs on the bottom of the cupcake it's just broken up graham crackers on top of the marshmallow with a chocolate drizzle or choc pieces instead of a hershey bar. Or it's house made marshmallow or Italian meringue instead of store bought cream.

Made dessert for a friend's stagette last night. Vanilla bean and sour cream panna cotta with raspberries in champagne gelee and topped with fresh lime whipped cream:

Step 1 - champange gelee:

Step 2 - panna cotta:

Step 3 - lime whipped cream:

Step 4 - finished product:

I know that technically panna cotta is supposed to come out of the mould and stand on its own, but I decided to leave it in the cups for easier and neater transport.

I brought almost twice as many as we needed, but they were all devoured. I think this one is a keeper.

Wild Rice

zest of one orange

green onions

blueberries

toasted almond pieces

mandarin oranges

and then this is the hard part because I use a toasted asian sesame dressing that I get a local gourmet grocery store. They have their own brand so I don't know what you could use in place of it but if you can find something sesame that would probably work. It's a think dressing with a lot of flavor unlike the Kraft asian dressing, which I find completely nasty anyways.

Everything is just to taste. I don't measure out anything so it's all your preference as to how much onion, blueberries, etc you'd want in it. I personally think 1 orange makes it too orangy but I was told to leave it as is by everyone that's had it.
