i suppose i could tolerate raw onions, but not peppers. green peppers (all subway has) are kinda bitter as it is, i prefer red. plus red has more vitamins so i use it as an excuse to never eat green peppers

I prefer onions to be caramelized although I still love raw onions in a sandwich.

Peppers are the easiest to eat! Easier than onions, IMO.

I can't even taste the difference between green, yellow, red, and orange peppers. I thought they were all the same thing, just with a different pigment.

that sounds awful. That's not food porn, that's food injustice.

Ooh they definitely all their own unique flavors. Green are probably the strongest, so if you don't like them you should still try the other colors. I think orange are the mildest, so I don't care for them as much because they can be sort of bland. I think red are the best, best flavor anyway, especially raw with dip. I can't remember where the yellow fall on the scale. Actually they might be the sweetest. But anyway, the red, orange and yellow are sweeter than the green, which taste the most different than the others.

I got Subway for the first time in ages today. I really like their pepperoni, so I usually just get a bunch of that with Old English cheese and a lot of salad to make up for it. And that bland Chipotle sauce.

Red capsicum/bell paper definitely has the strongest flavour, to me. I'll often put green capsicum on something like a pizza as one would lettuce to a sandwich because it tastes quite harmless, but adds just the slightest texture and blends with other flavours.

I'd say it's food rape, but I'm sure the murky depths of the internet already has its own definition of that.

I've found out that I really don't like cooked peppers. They're slimy and mushy and I almost gag when I eat them. We had stuffed peppers the other day and they got to be so soft that I had to get out some tortilla chips so I could have something crunchy with them. They were red peppers, and they seem to get squishy really easily. I took a leftover stuffed pepper yesterday and took the skin off, cut it in pieces, and rolled it up into a burrito with a bunch of cheese. It was a lot better that way, but I still prefer slightly crunchy peppers especially on pizza. We make white pizza at home once in a while with chicken, red onions, green peppers, garlic, and alfredo sauce with lots of mozzarella.

I love all peppers all ways.

I have copied Iron Chef Morimoto and made roasted pepper nigiri (I believe the battle was bell peppers--red only?). The red pepper really can look like fish.
Not my pic, but essentially the same thing:

That reminds me, I have a picture of a taco pizza I made recently that I haven't posted in here yet.

I've never tried a stuffed pepper. Only recently have I even been a pepper eater at all. I'm waiting for the opportunity to present itself now.

Oooh those look good.

I've seen [bold]A[\bold] bell pepper episode, but I think the one I saw was all colors because I seem to recall Alton explaining the different properties of each one. But hell, maybe it was Red only and he just felt like doing that anyways because he's Alton.

This was on the Japanese version.

If anyone wants to try it, it's so easy. Just be sure to get all of the skin off the pepper after roasting, and then marinate the pepper in soy sauce for a little bit.

BTW--to me, there is too much rice on those nigiri in that picture.

Fwiw, I love both versions of the show. Glad to see the original back on the air (on the cooking channel)

I can't do onions or peppers; they upset my stomach. Even when cooking, I've learned my lesson with onions. I barely put any in, if any. Garlic doesn't cause the same issue, so I'll usually just use more garlic.

If the onions are cooked enough so that they're really soft and hardly noticeable, it's usually okay. I just would rather leave them off.

Raw onions? Forget about it.
