Not sure if this is where this thread should be or if someone already started one like this. Just thought we needed a place to share our Christmas stories: What kinds of wonderful gifts you got or gifts you bought for someone that you thought were particularly awesome, any U2 related gifts , any cool Christmas stories :D

I'll start

My mom went insane this year and ordered me a pair of Bono's new pink star shades from the Armani store in Italy :hyper: I was so excited about that!
I also got a Blackberry from my grandpa :hyper:
Got some other odds and ends too like clothes, dvds (two seasons of The Tudors on dvd), and JT Remastered

I got everything I asked for this Christmas :D

New cell phone- Pantech Impact
Twilight Scene It
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
My Sister's Keeper
Public Enemies
Itunes gift card
Season 1 of True Blood
Pooh Bear ornanment
Candle
Body Lotion
Beach themed picture frame
Philadelphia Phillies shirt
Very pretty scarf that my mom crocheted herself

Best gift of all: Having been able to go home to spend Christmas with my family :)

It was a very light year for gifts in my family. But what I got was awesome:

knit gloves in purple
Target gift cards (I bought a Sonicare toothbrush  )
cash
dvd and movie candy
baking book that focuses on decorating
Dinner out with the family at a new restaurant by our favorite lake
Grey fleece zipup hoodie with a white fuzzy lining

Since we all agreed not to spend a lot on each other I bought myself a few things during my shopping trips out...

EMU boots in black
It Might Get Loud
Johnny Depp triple feature movie
Vikings socks

I think I had more fun this year with the lack of gifts than in years where we spoil each other. My mom, sister and I made tons and tons of holiday cookies for Hanukkah and Christmas for various parties we all went to. We also all went to dinner at the big Hanukkah celebration at my grandpa's nursing home. He'll be 95 a week from today :) He's a grump but I could tell he was really happy we all came for dinner.

I made out like a bandit this year :D
U2 CDs:
HTDAAB
Zooropa
ATYCLB

Red Rocks DVD

Laughing Buddha statue (I asked for this) Its really pretty.
Panera GC
Gardenia Bath stuff
Scrapbook
Red cardigan
pink legal pads & pink pens (I'm a pink fanatic)
pink ceramic knife
pink measuring cups/spoons
Jamie Oliver T-Fal Pot/pan set (not pink unfortunatley but v. nice)
Does this mean I have to cook now?

Whole bunch of other stuff I cant remember rn.
The only thing I really wanted but couldnt buy myself was Lady Gaga tix bc they're sold out :(
Besides these gifts I had alot of fun spending quality time w/my awesome friends/fam.
I'm a lucky girl :)

I really enjoyed Christmas :)
I get U2 CD The Unforgettable fire, DVDs The Best of 1990-2000 by U2 and Believe Again Australian Tour 2009 by Delta Goodrem (she is an australian singer and I LOVE her ), book Night Shift by Stephen King, U2 t-shirt and really big U2 poster. Then some shower gels, body lotions and things like that :D

I love giving a gifts and making people happy. I bought U2 t-shirt for my mum, after-shave lotion for my dad, book Just after Sunset by Stephen King for my friend and other little things for other friends.

I'm looking forward to New Year's Eve. I'm going to be with my parents because I have simply wonderful parents

We had a pretty low key christmas this year and didn't do the present swap with friends this year - kept it to family only . . . but the kids and I went crackers and made cup cakes for as many of our friends as we could (those who we knew we could deliver them to) . . . and its funny how much people loved them . . . we put little stars and the names of each person on the cakes and put them in pretty boxes we found really cheaply at the local $2 shop . . . I felt a tiny bit stupid at first but because it was my daughters idea I really had to run with (who am I to squash initiative in a 13 year old girl!) . . . but all the friends who came home to boxes of cup cakes just loved it . . . yayness!

I guess we do all get a bit too caught up in the commercialism of it all and forget that it really should just be about re-connecting with people after the craziness of another year and taking time to say 'hi' and being kind to each other . . . enough gush fest from me :D

I did ridiculously well . . . got an iPhone (first ever little ipody device and I am a teeny tiny bit addicted to it already), some gorgeous edun tshirts (a purple one  and one with a message from Nelson Mandela on it that reads . . . .'There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the One you are capable of living' . . . gorgeous message that made me cry as I read it . . . I love it and am thinking of having it printed onto a canvas to hang in my loungeroom), some books, an iTunes card, perfume but, as dorky as it sounds my favourite present . . . new tyres for my car

Kids got spoilt . . .Santa bought them a Wiiiiiiiii which, even though we really struggled to afford it . . . it has been the best because it's something we are all playing together . . .hurrahness for family re-bonding time

Hope you all had a beautiful christmas and that 2010 sees the lights shine a little brighter for you all

Just got an email from RDY4THDL(Steve). He wanted me to post this gift he got from his wife since he doesn't have a photo account to post it himself. Here you go Steve, it's posted for ya :

How true that is. Even though at times family can make you a little crazy  there's nothing like everyone getting together and spending the day just having a a good time.

This just made me tear up! Beautiful! I eespecially love the Madela saying on the purple Edun shirt! Awesomeness right there!

I had a quiet Christmas but I had a couple packages with wonderful things from people who mean a lot to me. I was quite happy with the lovely cards I'd been receiving! I got some lovely lavender body lotion and shower gel, scarf gloves and socks, baked goodies, gift cards and a $1000 check from my mother. I bought myself an iPhone a month or so ago and that was my Christmas/Birthday gift to myself which I love dearly. I also have a $100 Amazon gift card. I am going to choose some things wisely as I am saving money for my trip to England in the Spring!

Let's see:

A long sleeve American Eagle shirt from my sister.

The Hangover unrated edition.

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 1.

A new phone (the env touch).

Annnnnd U2 tickets for their show in Philly!!!!!! :hyper::D I'm sooo pysched for this!! It's my first U2 show.

Oh and $75 from my grandparents.

On the downside of the this festive time of the year, my dad and me both got a bad stomach virus after Christmas. Dad got it on the 26th I got it that night and the following day...... It was terrible. I'm convinced that it has something to do with my nana 's jello mode that she made for Christmas dinner. Other members of the family got sick as well. But oh well, dad and me are better so that's good.

I watched The Hangover on Christmas Eve. Good times.
Jello molds always spell trouble.
Have fun @ your show. You'll have a blast. Went to my 1st this Oct. & I'm hooked.

per usual, even people say they're cutting back and spending less, somehow I make out like a bandit :reject:

-U2 tickets for Chi from my mother-in-law, as well as the U2 tour black hoodie from her also.
-various gift cards---old navy, starbucks, Itunes, and some for restaurants
-some bobbi brown, origins and sephora makeup/lip stuff
-silver bracelet and a bottle cap necklace that has I heart Ken and a small pic, as in Barbie's Ken, not my husband, Ken
-new game for my DS :hyper:
-Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince dvd
-Grey's Anatomy season 5 dvd
-Tori Amos cd Abnormally Attracted to Sin
-Victoria's Secret dream angels heavenly perfume
-ANOTHER U2 black tour hoodie, this time from my sis. The odds of getting 2 of these is beyond me, esp since I didn't ask for one. Total surprise
-Pooh Ornament, I heart NY ornament, Swedish Chef ornament

oh and a snowblower. seriously.

Hi,
Kristen thanks so much for for posting for me- I appreciate it. My wife really suprised me this year..using the pix I took in Toronto, and blowing them up/cropping them etc. to create the "picture". The only debate in the house now is where it will hang. I was thinking the main living room or maybe in the master bedroom....looks like the basement rec room will have to do (wife rolls eyes at other suggestions, and strongly suggests the rec room)! :D
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and all have a safe and Happy New year!
Cheers,
