the 80s NIR trains here, that were round even in the mid 90s, I used to LOVE seeing it come round the corner, pretty sure it was this heavy rusty red look on the front/back, and think either front of back said NIR but I used to get quite excited seeing it come round the corner or from a distance, there was something so....menacing about it! esp when for AGES and I mean YEARS AND YEARS they had it open at the station that you could walk over the tracks to other side (all sealed off now), I have no idea why they had it like that for so long considering it was so bloody dangereous, but yet in crossing, sometimes from the distance you would see it, was exciting!

I live near a train station and in the morning when I read my paper and have my bagel I can feel and hear it, its kinda nice, it always reminds me of the start of the movie "The Outsiders"
