I think everyone's got it, except for 13. I think the answer to 13 is b), you leave out the definite article. At least that's how I hear it stated in the Canadian media all the time. When I say it that way myself, it just feels weird and awkward, though.

yes, quite ironic isn't it? spelt is a very uncommon spelling though in itself in canada, it's usually "spelled".

when you're not sure, add "u". favour, savour, neighbour, saviour, flavour, favourite, moustache, etc. american spelling has dropped the u, but elsewhere it remains.

i cringe when i see how often a word like favourite is spelled incorrectly by canadians. how hard is it, really?

not surprised that this one was found to be difficult. per chance, per cent, etc. they are two words, not one. look in the globe and mail, national post or regional paper if you don't believe me. TWO. WORDS. american spelling, however, once again dictates that it's one. canadians, however, are not american.

it is NEVER correct to spell it "center", unless you are quoting an american institution. for example, the world trade center, the staples center, etc. i don't know why people get this wrong so often... centre NOT center.

for bands, companies, etc. both the singular and plural forms are correct. british english sides with plural, while american english favours singular. in canada, it's a toss-up.

i'm surprised so many got this wrong. you use "the" generally when people know what the definitive is precisely representing. in this case... which hospital the victim is currently recovering in. we don't know that, so the article is not necessary.

americans always use the article, british never, UNLESS one wants to emphasise the particular hospital in question.

it's highly depressing to see how many people write month/day/year... there is no excuse for it. none. i don't care if you say january 27, but there is no logical reason for writing month/day/year. the united states are the only country to adopt such practises, whereas the rest of the world generally goes by day/month/year or in more rare cases, year/month/day.

i read an (very) amateur writer's piece a few months ago that described remembrance day as having occured "on the eleventh hour of the eleventh month, of the eleventh day..." and i pretty much gave up on the spot right there. i mean come on. if that doesn't sound awful, then what does?

it's because so many canadians are confused, that canada is one of the only countries in the world that uses year/month/day regularly to best avoid confusion.
