All the contempt I have for the current administration, the term fascism to be used in regards to the government is and cannot be justified and takes, in my view, all credibility from the author.

I agree. Down with fascism. We should just let a cascading collapse of money lenders and banks happen, and in so doing strip the population of their savings and investments. After all, people don't need money for any reason, and I'm sure they won't be exploited in their time of need. Surely, if any chaos ensues, any trade break downs will be temporary and essential needs not being met will see quick resolution, no doubt those so-called fascists will be regarded as heroes for their glorious efforts of failing to stop widespread woe. And in all fairness, the government has never been known to overreact to crises in absurd ways that overextend their authority, so, you know, that won't result in any wholly non-democratic executive issues. Awesome.

Sure you don't... and Hitler killed more. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I find it sad when we attribute politics we don't like with terms like fascism or socialism. As I said, I have much contempt for the current administration, and this surely comes from politics that all too well remind me of other autocratic regimes the world has seen, both leftist and right regimes, and you could bend the ideology of fascism as far as to fit Bush's policies into it if you want to.
But it doesn't help the course, it doesn't help any meaningful debate to encounter and it doesn't make for a compelling argument I could buy into.

You may be right, but judging from the "people in the world" reaction for the last 8 years I'd say many, and by many I mean millions upon millions, of those people don't just think the administration is "stupid". It's a little more complicated than that.
