Too bad, he was a good speaker, and was priceless dealing with Fox News bimbos like Megyan Kelly in interviews, throwing their own BS back at them.

Ah well, still turned out to be an asshole like most in government.

i do wonder about the role of all this and whether it should matter or not.

yes, it's crappy that Arnold fathered god knows how many children out of wedlock.

this is stupid and gross.

these are all distinct from, say, sexual assault or rape (hello, DSK) which are crimes.

but is it all that much of a stretch to think that assholes are also probably going to be the kind of people who seek political power and just might be very effective at wielding said power? would JFK have even made it past his first term as a Senator today? would that be a good thing? would it have been a good thing if Clinton had resigned over Gennifer Flowers or Monica Lewinsky?

it doesn't surprise me at all that, men in positions of power have the chance to exercise their libidos in a way most regular men do not because women are attracted to men in positions of power. are we riding ourselves of people who might be capable leaders because they have sex outside their marriages?

we can talk about how stupid this is, sure, and i don't Twitter myself, but he meant to send this privately and not post it publicly. had that not happened, we'd never know about this. are we better for knowing about it? is he less of an effective politician because he pressed the wrong button?

hell, my mother can't even turn on her DVD player. does that mean she's "stupid"?

these are just thoughts, not statements. anyway ...

I think someone who is in a position of some power should know to be more careful and/or more knowledgeable about technology and how easy it is to "hit a wrong button" or to make the mistake of trusting someone not to share something that was meant to be private.

Maybe "naive" is more accurate than "stupid." But these days, considering how many things intended to be private get exposed (har har), you'd think that people in any sort of power would think a bit more before doing something like that, private intentions or not.

I could just go for the easy joke and accuse him of being just another person who thinks with their genitals.

It only mattered because he lied about it to his constituents and allowed tax money to be spent on said lie...

This is one of the few politicians I liked and respected, and now he goes and does this. God damn it, I hate everyone.

It will be interesting how the GOP plays this. Can they really say anything with a known cheater on their Presidential ticket?

If you're in a position of power you have an obligation to conduct yourself with more care than the average person. That may not be a fair expectation, and it is not how the real world operates most of the time but ethics should matter. If a guy doesn't have the brains to figure out that sending pictures of his weiner to random girls is stupid, I don't want him working on the budget.

Seeing as we just had a special election in New York to replace a Republican who resigned under eerily similar circumstances. If he doesn't resign it will be a big campaign issue even given that it is a safe Dem seat.

i was surprised that Lee resigned. but then, Dems don't set themselves up for charges of sexual hypocrisy like the GOP does.

still, got to hand it to both men for keeping in shape.

if these allegations are true, he needs to go.
the sooner the better.

Broussard later received numerous graphic images from Weiner's private Yahoo email account, RockOh77@yahoo.com. The emails included a photo of a man's erect penis as well as a shot of a shirtless man at a desk whose face - distinctly recognizable as Weiner's - is only partially visible. In his emotional press conference, Weiner acknowledged the possibility that X-rated photos of himself could be floating around the Internet.
