White victims, black perps - Obamanation's mainstream media seem to be quiet enough on reporting this! How remarkably odd.

Wow, that's ugly.

Why would you add race baiting to a story that is already so horrific and tragic? :(

Police probing death of Irish student in Japan charge two US men with assault of her friend - Telegraph

Two charged with sex assault on murdered Nicola’s friend - National News - Independent.ie

Sounds like the Japanese police believe these two scumbags drugged two young women in order to rape them.

It has much more to do with it being in Tokyo and an Irish victim. US media is self-centered, much more than it is racist.

1, oh, that gets reported on way more here than you think it does.
2, that has...what, exactly, to do with the issue at hand?

Disgusting story. I hope those assholes get a nice, LOOOOOOOOOOOONG prison stretch.

Oh, a murder! There are so few of those that the US media usually reports every single one. Good sleuthing, financeguy  What is our next step to bring this to the attention of the ignorant, liberal masses?

I would like to know whether I am now supposed to:
A. distrust any person with a different skincolour
B. recognize that Obama, while he has as much to do with this as Nelson Mandela, is evil; or
C. both

The blacks have totally been running wild in the streets, guys, because of Obama.

Too bad the LAMESTREAM media doesn't want you to know this.

Rap music is almost uniformly misogynistic. It is significant not only that these events occured after a rap music concert but also that the suspects seem to be not just ordinary fans but people directly involved in the industry.

For those talking of racebaiting, it surely can't have escaped you guys attention that are almost all rap music performers, producers and prime movers are black males, and that they largely escape critcism for their unapologetic and brazen misogyny (with the honourable exception of some of the older generation of black soul musicians, like Smokey Robinson). You surely don't believe that an industry controlled largely by white males would get away with it?

Rock music's pretty damn misogynistic, too, and many people who aren't members of the PMRC or groups of that sort have been able to look away from their less than savory aspects for years . Yeah, there's some really nasty aspects of the rap world, but there are people who listen to it and don't commit such horrific crimes, who are able to separate stupid actions/words in music from reality.

These people would do this stuff whether they were involved in the rap community or not because they're creeps. If you're going to do something that horrific to somebody, you'll do it no matter what because there is something seriously wrong with the wiring in your brain. And if I were to find out they grew up in homes with shitty excuses for male role models, if one even existed at all, I wouldn't be at all surprised. There's plenty of factors that could explain their behavior.

And that still doesn't explain anything about the Obamanation comment.

Actually, entertainment in general, especially music gets away with it. You should try opening your eyes a little bit wider.

But honestly none of this has anything to do with how you framed this thread though. You try TOO hard, and in the process of doing so make yourself look hateful and ignorant. You're better than this.

Rock music's misogynistic? Can we cite some examples? REM? U2? Bruce Springsteen? Arcade Fire? Radiohead? Coldplay? PJ Harvey? Cher?

Implying that rock music is institutionally misogynistic (as opposed to individual artists occasionally displaying elements of misogyny) in the way that hip hop is just isn't a sustainable argument. It simply isn't worth taking seriously and is a complete deflection on the part of those who are either too cowardly or naive to critique elements of black culture for fear of being accused of racism.

If you genuinely don't believe that modern day hip hop is institutionally misogynistic to its core, you either haven't listened to any recently, or don't understand the lyrics.

Here we go again with "black culture"

Wow, and you're lecturing others about being taken seriously or being naive?

If this is white culture, then does that mean if I point out 8 artists that happen to be black and aren't misogynistic does that mean you're wrong about "black culture"?

If financeguy actually tried listening to rap music instead of parroting the bullshit generated in the echo chambers by his ilk, maybe he'd realize how completely stupid he sounds

How about half of the hair bands of the 80s? Kiss? Or the Nickelback "I like you better on your knees" brorock? Your head is so far up your tight ass that it's cutting off circulation to your brain
