Oh yeah, when I visited the US, that definitely struck me as bizarre, in an uncomfortable sort of way. Can't fathom why anybody, for instance, would be packing a gun on their family trip to the park.

Like I said, this is not a cultural norm. I'd feel the same way and so would most of my family and friends. I don't feel I have any use for a gun, I don't invoke my "right" to carry one, and I won't allow them in my home. Unless someone is going on some sort of military mission I don't get why people "need" to always have them.

One point you missed in the NEW article is that the boy wasn't shot in the head


Rodriguez said the preliminary autopsy report showed the boy was shot twice in the torso. Family members initially thought he was shot in the back of the head, but that wound turned out to be a cut from a fall.

Easy enough mistake. Deep posted the new article a couple pages ago
