Now stand in the place where you work.

Now face west.

(you know, if you still have a job and all)

Here is mine (I am the Red dot obviously, and apparently a Liberal/ Moderate Libertarian)

Take the Quiz here: The Political Compass - Test

thanks for this!

actually, interestingly, there was an article published through the Utne Reader, ghads, back around early or late 90' s? about just this type of limiting: left --------> right - axis of personal Political Identification

complete with a pretty funny/complex illustration illuminating what the author was charting up

so it's cool to try this charting of a more complex SPI

I wasn't too sure of a few questions- the way they were phrased...

but I came out pretty close to i guess how I would ID myself -

Economic L/R: - 7.88
Social L/A: - 6.36

I only (semi-automatically) flinch at the "libertarian" aspect in that mnay of the libertarians I've heard calling Liberal talk-radio that I've heard usually don't want a SAFETY NET for the poor/ill/disabled/old.

But from how they are meaning/ interpeting the questions/answers it makes sense that I appear in that quadrant where I am.

I took this once before but can't find where it is, don't think it was as far back as 2005 but it wasn't in the 2008 topic. I'm almost exactly where Mandela is at. Anyway, just call me a big socialist weenie.

Economic Left/Right: -7.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.10

I just took it again:

Economic Left/Right: -5.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.23

I don't feel much different.
