Today, Sarajevo marks 100 years since the assassination Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofie, an event that triggered World War 1.

The central event will be concert of the Vienna philharmonic which will be held in national library/city hall, the building which was set on fire by Republika Srpska Army in 1992, and was featured in U2's Miss Sarajevo video.

I hope this century will bring more peace to this region and to the world in general.

World War 1 was a sad and tragic event that should have never happened.
The assassination, unfortunately, ignited a spark that hit gasoline.

If you read the history, France and England were as much to blame
as Germany for starting the conflict.

The treaty at the end of the war set the next slow burning spark
for the next world war.
