As long as we still can have our guns..... I don't see a problem with this.

Also way less doors to get out when there is ... you know ... a school shooter.

Even when he's standing outside a school that had one of its own students commit this mass murder, they still treat everything as if it's fucking stranger danger outsiders doing this.

To cori’s point, isn’t it sad that people are *actually* talking about how to build a building so that it’s commando-resistant?

I really do think we need to start taking people’s guns.

Here’s the thing, I think yeah, we need to take their guns.

But I also think its important to not make this a political war in regards to school shootings. The right has adopted the “mental health” argument in lieu of not wanting to talk about guns.

This argument is still valid. That kid isn’t right in the head, no question. Nor was the last one or any of them prior. Not having access to a gun helps *a lot*, but it doesn’t stop their desire to harm.

But the signs *are* there. They’re all over social media. And I’m not just talking about the “Born to Kill” t shirt. It’s far beyond that. Much like terrorism having a presence on social media, I was reading some shit on Twitter. There are an endless amount of accounts... a straight up network... of people who praise or are allured by school shooters. Kids. This kid being one of them. Some of their feeds are legitimately obsessions of shooters.

These people are not right in the head. It’s foolish to not acknowledge that when the writing is literally on the Twitter wall. It astounds me that this stuff doesn’t get shut down or there’s nothing the law can do about it.

They haven't adopted it, though, because they're not DOING anything about it. They're taking AWAY access to healthcare. SAYING something and doing something are two different things.

Gun laws don't require you to lock up your guns.

His dad had legal guns.

He got the guns.

His mental health care may have prevented this. But the access to the guns enabled it.

I feel like you sort of ignored my point and responded in a fashion that suggests we are in disagreement.

Is it just me or do republicans think it is more important to protect unborn fetuses than it is to protect born children?? They seem to make a huge deal about abortions but when mass shooting happen the only “solution” they can come to is to bring more guns! Maybe school should be called large uteruses so that the children inside the school can have the same attention and protection as unborn fetuses. Sure protect the unborn children so that they are born into a world where they can get raped and murdered.

When sexually frustrated men get the idea that there’ll never be hope for them to get laid (to pass on their genes), there’s a very good chance they’ll become violent.

Guns are definitely the number one problem. But maybe we need to require young males to undergo counseling to let them know the world isn’t over if they get rejected.

this "they wouldn't be violent if they just got laid" is nonsense.

as if getting your dick wet is this magical switch that flips violent hate-filled shitlords into awesome happy people. the onus should not be on women to have sex with violent angry young men as the solution to this problem.

besides, the violent ones (incels) don't want anything to do with sexually available women anyways - they all think women are "ruined" (to put it mildly) the instant they express their sexuality in any way outside of the context of the traditional "we waited until our wedding night". they don't want to just fuck, they want a specific and unrealistic vision of what they think idealized love should be (she has to look like a supermodel but so innocent and pure that she has never even so much as looked at another man until i came along but also she has to just intuitively know how to fuck like a porn star, and be fully subservient like a stepford wife at all times), and the reason they never get it is because their standards and expectations are so high they're doomed to fail from the start. they get rejected because when every woman on earth inevitably fails to meet their impossible standards they blame everything and everyone else except themselves and get angry at the world because they see the game as so absurdly rigged against them that they don't stand a chance, so there's no point in even trying to do anything but rage quit and smash the board.

they don't want escorts because they're the ultimate used-up sluts. incels wouldn't even knowingly be in the same room as a prostitute and if you tried to force it the only outcome of that would be a whole lot of dead sex workers.

this is not a problem you solve by getting incels laid. *they* need to change who they are as people, fundamentally. that's the only solution.

This is so fucking pathetic. Just accept a no and move the fuck on.

I saw a video on Facebook the other day about some country (Netherlands?) that starts sex education when the kids are in, like, kindergarten, including the understanding that your body is yours and it's OK to say no. I wish people would stop being so puritanical and realize we need something like that here. We don't have to talk about sex explicitly with 5 year olds, but starting early with the knowledge that they don't get to tell other people what to do with their bodies? Sure.

I've often wondered why we don't see pro-life groups protesting outside NRA headquarters, or at various political events, when these school shootings happen. If all life is truly sacred, like pro-lifers keep insisting, I'd think they'd be all over these tragedies, too. Maybe there are some who are, but it doesn't seem like they're as vocal as they should be overall.

But that's another reason some of us are pro-choice-why bother bringing more children into this world when we can't be guaranteed people will take proper care of and protect the ones who are already here?
