I'm the same way. I'd hate being in a position where I basically have to sell myself. Luckily, my current position is a good fit for my personality. My work speaks for itself (we get monthly metrics which include surveys from customers, how they rate our work and our interactions, etc). I am not introverted (I work in IT customer service) but it's not like a position where you are working on commissions.
