I really think this is most of the basis of America's problems because the corrupting influence of campaign contributions is only possible because the public hasn't exerted its rights over the air waves. Since the air waves are publicly owned, media has no right to charge for ads.
This is a great piece, charting the history of how corporate media purchased the rights to rent the air waves in exchange for promises to serve the public good -- promises on which it has reneged.
I think this is vitally connected the health care and many issues. Call your Congressmen and women, Americans. Take back what's yours!
