Have you ever seen a conservative trying to be funny?
From what I've seen it is often a sad state of affairs. The word 'lame' comes mind.

there seems to be very little grasp on humour, or satire for that matter.

This is a broad generalization, but I'm curious to see what responses people have.

Who are the funny conservative comedians?
Put aside their political ideologies and opinions for the time being,
who understands humour?

I can think of Dennis Miller...hell, maybe even Ben Stein.

Who else?

Enough said.

I think comedians swing left or really libertarian most of the time (at least the decent ones). Comedians whose work is really timeless or based on social commentary seem to have to be far-removed enough from the mainstream, or the system, or whatever, so that they can mock it.

I'm sure there are plenty of comedians who could be considered "right-leaning", who work clean, and make audiences of 30-75 year old white folks chuckle at casino ballrooms.

They're not really my bag.

O'reilly and Beck are so funny!!!......

O'Reilly's funny? Never seen it...

Beck has his moments, but most of his humor comes when he's trying to be serious, most of it comes from his paranoia ignorant side.

Dennis Miller was the first to come to mind, but his humor has actually dropped tremendously the more outspoken talking head he became. He still gets it more than most though.

Dennis Miller used to be funny because the uber-liberal Rick Overton was writing for him.

Now? :crickets:

Larry Miller was always a relative conservative, but he admits now that he has no idea about politics anymore. But, he was never a "right-wing" comedian.

I have always liked him as a comedian and an actor. He has a great, dry, observational wit.

Norm MacDonald is still around? I haven't seen him in a long time.
Yes, he's got a new show on Comedy Central starting next week. He just had a special on last weekend, and it was hysterical.
What, some dick thinks that by joining the military I am a complete moron? I guess that hurts...
Bill tended to use a bit of hyperbole.

The following is humor to me because many on the left have never listened or understood Bob Dylan.

-Please post one anti-war protest Dylan ever attended.

-Please post one anti-American quote by Dylan

-He says Shane is one of his favorite films.

-In his autobiography he states that Barry Goldwater was his
favorite political person of the 1960s

-He also states in the his AB, that he bought firearms to protect his family at his home in Woodstock from crazed hippies.

The left's total misunderstanding of Dylan....

That's all funny to me :D

Agreed here. He seems quite traditional, some would say reactionary.

Not quite sure what it has to do with the thread, however.

Dylan's actions and viewpoints have certainly been exaggerated to a great extent throughout the years, but you're hardly someone who should accuse anyone else of misunderstanding things.

Jim Norton

Or just watch FNC's Red Eye. That's way more edgy and rebellious than Stewart, Maher, and the rest could ever hope to be.

Oh yah, this is real solid comedy right here folks.

Makes Dennis Miller look like an intellectual.

Adam Carolla has become a comedic fav of mine, mostly due to his ability to go on improvised social commentary rants when set off by idiotic radio callers. He is definitely not liberal, has a lot of right leaning views, but skews more libertarian.

I love AC. I'm seeing him live on April 28. I've always thought he is more Libertarian than anything, but a thinking Libertarian. His rant is not anti-government in the least.
He definitely thought government had a role in people's lives when he was doing LoveLines.

ehhhh...I don't know that the Corolla video above is showcasing a great argument. Some fairly impoverished views, actually, I would say
