Re: Ted Nugent--that was near the end of my tenure as a bookstore manager (how I put myself through grad school). He was doing an author tour for his new book, and my events coordinator got our store on the list. (This was in Ann Arbor, and he's from the area originally so lots of fans there.) I don't want to go into details about personal impressions, rightly or wrongly it still feels kinda unprofessional...I will say both male and female staff were left with the distinct impression that his respect for women is lacking. But financially it was very successful; we sold a huge quantity of his book, had our best sales day that quarter too IIRC, not our biggest author event ever but it was definitely up there.
