Slow news week... the networks are all annoyed at the number of televised press conferences Obama has called for, which have cost the networks somewhere around $30M in advertising revenue. "AI" has already been pre-empted once or twice this season; Fox wasn't interested in losing more cash.

did you hear that Wanda Sykes told a joke about Rush Limbaugh that Obama laughed at?

i bet everyone now regrets voting for him. :tsk:

If Obama's laughing at Wanda Sykes jokes I question his judgement and ability to lead.

Me = racist bastard :wink:

(I actually kind of like Wanda, I even watched a couple eps of "Wanda at Large") :reject:

But bush must have been a ratings hit in the USA

Obama gives intelligent and sensible answers with great delivery

Whereas bush was a top stand up comic

Isn't the press conference tonight considered to be very important, about the health care bill? They are going nuts about that on Hannity and all their other shows, how it will be the ruination of America and it's socialism and all that-but they're not showing the news conference?

FOX is alone among the major television networks in making the decision to continue with their regular programming tonight instead of interrupting their schedule to air President Obama's prime time press conference tonight. The show they felt is important enough to preempt the President's conference is "So You Think You Can Dance."

i didnt know he could read!

there, i made a bush joke. happy now? am i allowed to make fun of obama as long as i make fun of bush too?

But is the "teleprompter" joke even making fun of Obama? I mean every president since the teleprompter has been invented has used one, why is it all of a sudden a joke with Obama? Maybe I just don't get Rush humor...:wink:

No that's fine..chill :) It just seems a bit silly to talk about his prompter use when it has been used since it was invented. He didn't need a prompter to write Dreams From My Father (maybe someone wrote it for him and he lied..a diamondinvestigation is in order).

Everyone thinks its terrible because the network is called Fox, but really, you’d expect one network to opt out. What % of people don’t care/will tune out of it? A massive one, I’d assume, and so it’s no surprise one of the networks want a piece of that. It’s not racist or political, it’s a business opportunity. They can sell their advertising for a few mill more because of it. Other networks probably secretly would love to be doing the same, but would be weighing it against a PR hit. No such concerns for Fox because their brand is tied to the News network.

And they hammer the teleprompter with Obama as it’s their way of trying to knock his stellar communication skills down a few notches. That every President since their invention has used one most of the time, and that Obama is almost better off prompter than on, doesn’t matter.

Bush never used a teleprompter?
His speechwriter was over 30. Give him that much.

Not to mention, Maureen Dowd has even made jokes about the TOTUS, read by the MDOTUS.
