China ban Oasis as Noel played at Free Tibet Gig in 1997 with U2

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Hopefully Obama can pull off something similar.

YES WE CAN!

I hope the Chinese that captured Jack Bauer get to see Oasis.

Just rewards, bitches.

I would Oasis for being adventurous in their touring locations.

U2 just play the same, boring, predictable locations. They haven't properly toured in eastern Europe.

I remember when Coldplay's song "Spies" was banned because they felt it was mentioning China when in fact it's more about media. It put a chill up my spine.

"Spies!? How did you...? Hey ban that song!" :sexywink:

Noel's response

Now, before I get grossly misquoted about this (which is inevitable as I'm being interviewed by Q Magazine next week) - China! Fuck me, them communists have got long memories, eh? I can't even remember doing the offending gig 12 years ago? Come on, let it go.

In a bit.GD.

It's probably the reason they keep writing the same fucking song over and over again.

Yep and each rendition gets better and better

I think the Chinese are using this Tibet thing as an excuse
they probably said, "you did a gig with Bono? Get the fuck out of here"
