Yes, I realised you probably did right after I clicked post. Still, any chance to bring up Tony Abbott's hilariously unsuccessful prime ministership after his landslide victory.

It will be interesting to see how long Cameron lasts, whether he falls on his sword or is forced to go, and if it's an abrupt or managed transition. I see a whole bunch of pro-Brexit Tories are publicly stating support for him, which to me suggests he's actually a dead man walking. "We support him until we don't."

Hell, it's even possible there might be an early election - there are provisions for that under their fixed term legislation.

From what little I know, I'm inclined to agree.

I was surprised to see how strongly Wales voted to leave, but I suppose large parts of it share in the post-industrial, post-Thatcher malaise that affects pro-leave regions of northern England.

I fear this is far larger than David Cameron. Sort of like blaming Obama were the United States to elect Trump. Gotta blame the people.

Note I'm not comparing the two politicians.

This has been an educational couple of hours. I look forward to learning a lot more in the coming days.

Finally turning everything off now. Stay gold, UK posters.

From what I've read, the interesting decisions now really go to Merkel and Hollande, in figuring out what access to European markets the UK gets. Give them Norway-style access and things won't change much, sparing a lot of potential economic pain. But that could inspire other similar exits.

I thought they - or at least Wolfgang Schäuble, Germany's finance minister - had already ruled out arrangements similar to Norway and Switzerland.

But there are two years to negotiate that, and of course the German leadership had to sound as tough as possible. Two years for Germany to contemplate losing free exports to the huge market of the EU. We'll see whether they'll be willing to make their point.

I should be asleep, but this is bouncing through my head ...

Quote:
You say the price of my love's not a price that you're willing to pay
You cry in your tea which you hurl in the sea when you see me go by
Why so sad?
Remember we made an arrangement when you went away
Now you're making me mad
Remember despite our estrangement, I'm your man

You'll be back
Soon you'll see
You'll remember you belong to me
You'll be back
Time will tell
You'll remember that I served you well

Oceans rise, empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove,
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da dayada

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da da

You say our love is draining and you can't go on
You'll be the one complaining when I am gone

And, no, don't change the subject
'Cause you're my favorite subject
My sweet, submissive subject
My loyal, royal subject
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever

You'll be back
Like before
I will fight the fight and win the war
For your love
For your praise
And I'll love you till my dying days

When you're gone, I'll go mad
So don't throw away this thing we had
'Cause when push comes to shove
I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love

Trump is going to be in the UK today. Golf course in Scotland. Labour had a 33-40% crossover to Leave in Industrial blue collar areas. Think Pennsylvania - Ohio come fall. Parallel populist uprisings.

All the British people that voted for remain should migrate to Scotland while it is still possible.

Plaid Cymru also supported Leave, in the hope it would lead to Welsh independence.
