I had my hysterectomy LONG after I decided not to have kids. I married at 27, about ten years after I decided that I wasn't going to be a mommy. My hysterectomy was somewhat voluntary at 36.

Before you make stupid assumptions, try finding out the facts. I'm thrilled for your Aunt Linda, but assuming that all of us are the same is a fatal, and stupid, mistake to make when you're attempting to make a point of some kind.

No one here is stopping you from having kids. Have all you want. But leave those of us who don't want any alone, please.

How have I not seen this thread before?

I'm probably a terrible person for not wanting to have children. *Maybe* sometime in the future, but I don't think that will be anytime soon. But I do love my cat, so that helps right?

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be all right. Uncertainty can be a guiding light...

Cori loves her cat, too. You're both not horrible people.

And, the whole point a lot of us are arguing is that not wanting kids hardly qualifies as a determining factor for whether you are a terrible person or not.

I really, really love babies, toddlers and teenagers. Children in between I could do without.

Ah, that is a great relief.

And for the record, I do like children. As long as I can give them back to their parents. And in the supermarket, they are the most annoying thing to ever encounter. Mommy can I please have this... coommeee oonne pleaaaseeeeee? And when they get told no, they whine until they get it.

When they're a little younger, fine by me! Or older, for that matter. I have a nephew and he's.. 10 now I think. He's a cool kid.

I don't want kids, I didn't even like myself when I was a kid.
