When the French clock off at 6pm, they really mean it | Money | The Guardian

Being irreverent about work is the key to finding true success in life.

Americans and Britons could learn a thing or two from the French.

Well that seems a bit odd... does this law apply to everyone and all jobs? Cause that sounds far too weird for me to be true. I don't see how it should be a law for people to turn off their phones, while they could actually do that on their own as well.

As somebody who has to be plugged in 24/7 essentially, today I wish I was French.

Although the article is radically oversimplifying something pertaining to one industry sector, and stuff... good.

Well, good for the French I, on the other hand, have a tendency to send work-related emails to my (wonderful, diligent) employees right up to 10pm. And if they aren't acted upon by the following morning, I tend to get pretty damn cranky. So I shan't be moving to France anytime soon.

Pretty easy to see how the Germans steamrolled through France in WWII.

I'm trying very hard to avoid checking my emails off-hours. But given my job, I don't have much choice.
