This whole school bit.....

The problem with the standard Republican notion of vouchers and charter schools is that they look at schools like they are businesses. They think that if a school is failing and you give people the option to go to a better school, then the bad schools will fail or get better.

The problem? Several. First, what on earth makes a charter school better? Here in DC & back home in NJ, PLENTY of charter schools failed. Just because people can choose to go to a school, it doesn't mean that it's better.

Second, what happens to the few hundred students who don't leave the failing school to go to the charter school? They're left in a failing school.
