As pointed out, there are new Warwick bass guitars for the 2010 start of the U2:360 tour.

Seems that Adam has taken a liking to the craftsmanship at Warwick. Although, I'd heard (from a reliable source) that there was supposed to be a FENDER Adam Clayton signature bass coming out.

Is Adam is trying to catch up with Edge in the gear department?

There was even more gold for the Warwick Star Bass II, when none less than Adam Clayton from the Irish rock band U2 ordered a custom shop version of the semihollow classic. Whether the U2 bassist was inspried by his Gold records when choosing the finish is not known. It is a fact, though, that the Star Bass II is "draped" in an exclusive high polish finish named `Triumph Gold 3-layered ´, which is continued on the headstock. Top, sides and bottom of this Star Bass II are made of flamed maple of AAA quality. The fretboard consists of Tigerstripe Ebony with decorative mother of pearl block inlays.

The Star Bass II is fired up by two passive MEC Star Bass single coil pickups and passive MEC electronics. These single coils have been specially developed for the Star Bass by MEC owner Vlado Hansal. Apart from its extraordinary finish this Star Bass boasts some other special features: a graphite nut, Dunlop 6230 nickel silver frets and Schaller security-locks. Last, but not least: All that glitters is gold after all! The bass's rich golden finish is beautifully completmented by gold hardware.

Star Bass II use? So far it looks like he's using it for "Get On Your Boots" and "In A Little While".

Custom-made. Not sure who made Adam's.

Scott (bassist for U2 tribute, Joshua Tree) and his wife made his. He's got a few great looking straps.

You can see one in the picture below... That is Scott on the left. The fellow holding Scott's Warwick Reverso (Adam Clayton signature bass) is one the the head folks from Ashdown Amps (I don't remember his name off the top of my head)

That's Mark Gooday, founder and CEO of Ashdown! He was celebrating his Birthday with his wife, Jane, in Las Vegas last March. Very nice couple!

 So much bassporn in this thread.

I had you in mind when I made it. I know how you loves you some bass guitars and Adam Clayton.

More to come...

Idea was that I was marvelling at Adams new found interest, so it seems, with gear this tour. And while there are sparkly Fenders added to the stable, he seems to have a love affair with everything Warwick.

Can't blame him, as Warwick makes great bass guitars.

I'm especially fond of the Warwick. :D And Stuart actually used it for his walk around the catwalk in Hannover! Usually it's only the purple precision, so it was a nice change.

I hadn't even noticed that golden Reverso. Shame Adam loves the Warwicks so much, damn his expensive taste! I'll never be able to afford one of them!

Sadly I don't have many new Adam pics as he barely walked over to Edges side. :(
