What guitars do you use?

Do you use and amp or do you go direct to the soundboard from the AXE?

Epiphone Explorer that we got for cheap and sounds great
Fender strat - black modified with correct pups
Gibson Les Paul / custom

We use an AC30 on stage... Feed the axe fx to PA system and balance the two

You can see the guitars etc here

One thought about tribute bands.

Seems so many are quick to claim BEST or GREATEST or MOST AUTHENTIC U2 tribute.

I get that U2 (as Bono has said) have a Band-Ego. They have a deep belief what U2 can be. I think that is cool.

But tribute bands of any band... claiming in all of their adverts to be the BEST or GREATEST or MOST AUTHENTIC tribute... Whether it's a U2 tribure or an INXS, Led Zeppelin, Beatles... whatever tribute... It's arrogant at best and false advertising at worst.

I saw a no-U2 tribute. I won't mention names. But never the less, they went with the worlds greatest tag. They weren't. The were decent but hardly the greatest.

Just seems if you love a band and make a tribute - great. But when you start injecting ego into it, it seems like one might be doing it for the wrong reasons.

Just my thought on the "Best", "Greatest" and "Most Authentic" tags that some tributes attach themselves.

To be clear, I'm not attacking any U2 or other tribute. I'm merely stating my view on some of the perceived arrogance.

Love this thread. Wish there were more responses!
I play in an imaginary U2 tribute band, but only when I'm home alone and no one can hear.
My strat/fender blues deville/tc flashback 4/rat/cry baby is ok for my audience most of the time, though by god I'd love the rigs some of you on here can boast!
