Does anyone know how does edge play that intro?

if somebody doesn't know, the chords for verses are:
Am-D-Am-G
Am-C-D-C
Am-D-C-Am
Am-D-Am-G(2X)
all are non-barre chords

this is from the late show tv performance from 87:

tune down 1/2 step and capo on 3rd fret

* the open stings are relative to the capo, the rest you have to play like the capo isn't there (12th fret means 12th fret, etc), also add some delay

tune down 1/2 step and capo on 3rd fret

No need in tuning your guitar down unless it's already there.

Standard tuning/capo at 2nd does the same thing.

yeah, my guitar was 1/2 step down and i didnt feel like tuning it up for this
