The whole song is D maj to G maj. The intro moves up the B string, then puts a D suspension on and moves into D.

The song is just.

D ascending
So she woke up....

G to G add the 7th
from where she was....

D
Said I gotta do somethin'

G
We're going...

Chorus is:

A
A, lalala,

G
Lady day...

A
Ah lala

G
lady day..

D

and so on.

Sorry, I can't really tab, but this is the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar (though that was only a few months ago). I suppose it is fitting that my first post here on these forums is in regards to this song.

Running To Stand Still by U2 (Zoo TV Version)

Tabbed by Danny Zigman

Edge improves on the riff a bit in the concert but this is basically it.
At the end of song I like to just jam on the D and G 10th (and 12th fret A)
fret bar-chords avoiding the bass strings.

Tuned down 1 semi-tone (half-step)

Main Riff
D
e|-------------------|----10-------10-------------------|
B|-10-12-12-13-12-10-|-------10-------10-12-12-13-12-10-|
G|-------------------|-11-------11----------------------|
D|-------------------|----------------------------------|
A|-------------------|----------------------------------|
E|-------------------|----------------------------------|
G
e|----------10-------10-------10-------|
B|----10-------10-------10-------10----|
G|-12----12-------12-------12-------12-|
D|-------------------------------------|

E|-------------------------------------|

Verse
And so she woke up...
D G 4x
e[----------10-------10-------10-------|----------10-------10-------10-------]
