Ok, choose me a new instument

If you havent seen my other thread, I'm in a pickle as to what instument I want for christmas. Im kind of limited to buying from a catalogue as its my mum whos paying for them, and wants to pay in monthly installments, so Ive narrowed it down to 2 choices.

Electric piano/keyboard thingy

Pros:
Has headphone socket

Loads of songs Id like to learn, and Ive got a thing for piano music.

Cheaper than the drums

Cons:
Will have to learn to read notation. (can only read tab)

Probably have to pay for notation of most songs I want to learn.

OR

Drumz yo'

Pros:

Dont really need to learn anything to play them.

Can play more or less anything with them.

Cons:

More expensive

I know you can get pads, but they are loud.

HALP.

If I had the money I would.

Incedentally, I got a keyboard. Im pretty happy with it bar the fact I cant seem to get the midis to work though the lesson programme...
