My 6 year old wants to learn guitar

I thought I'd turn to the "experts". It seems all my U2 brainwashing may be paying off. My six year old son wants to learn how to play guitar. He loves watching mom's U2 videos and concerts. My question is whether he is too young, and if not, what kind of guitar should I get him?

Never too young I suppose. He's probably better of with a classical/spanish type guitar since they are small and the strings are easy to press down.

As for songs, In Gods Country was the first on I learnt coz it's very easy.
