musician board

i want to start a band here in edmonton, canada. so i'm just wondering if anyone knows of a musician board of some sort where you can find and hookup with like minded musicians in your area (my case - canada, more specifically edmonton). i imagine there has to be something like this sort of thing. I just can't find it!

I'm not from Canada but I can help you on the putting the band together thing cause I'm doing that right now for my all female REM tribute band. First just google for musician wanted boards. I'm sure you'll find some decent ones. Then go to local music stores and hang up some ads with pull tabs on them with your email and phone. Also if you have a local music or entertainment magazine/newspaper, most of those have a classifide ad section in the back with a musicians wanted section, so get an ad in there.
