Line 6 pod xt live tones?

Hi all,

This is my first post so be gentle. I was recently given a line 6 pod xt live. I've checked out the custom tone library for patches and some seem ok.

Does anyone have any advice/info on songs I can get from this unit. For a free unit I really shouldn't moan but as an example, their was a pride patch that didn't sound one bit like edge's tones.

I'd appreciate any feedback. Or a list of songs I could play with this unit.

You can get lots of good Edge tones with Line 6 M13 and HD series.

I think that the Pod Live might have some of the similar effects as the M13 and HD's. It should be a matter of picking a song and dialing in tones.

Keep in mind, what setting might work for one might not for another.

What guitar are you using? What amp What picks? All of these can influence guitar tone.

None of these units are designed to be "Edge-In-A-Box" straight out of the box.

There might be some on U2 Recording Yahoo Group that have used the Pod Live that can help. I'd also look up the U2 Guitar Tutorials forum - http://forum.u2guitartutorials.com/content.php

Yeah thanks. I'm using herdim picks, got squire strat, epiphone les Paul. I just play with headphones, no vox amp yet! I'm a newbie really, been playing guitar for a while but starting to do U2 stuff.
