I need some help from an expert.

I am keen to know what guitar Bono's playing in the Berlin version of ONE.

It sure is a Gretsch, but I can't decide if it's a single-cutaway Country Gentleman or a Tennessean.

So does anybody know for sure and is willin to help me?

Many thanks in advance for everyones efforts.

I'd say it looks like a Tennesean...the Country Gentleman has an acoustic hole...this one doesn't...than again it could be a very early Falcon

BONO's One video guitar is a Gretsch Country Club

The guitar that BONO is using in the ONE video is a 1959 Gretsch Country CLUB, not a Country Gentleman.

Legend has it, that the guitar was bought from Bruce Springsteen. Bono used it on the early legs of the Elevation tour. He later replaced the Country Club with his Irish Falson's once they were delivered by Fred Gretsch himself.

There are pictures of LARRY holding/playing this guitar in Anton Corbijn's U2&I book.

Follow this link for a bit more on this guitar:

The second picture is from the book - 50 Years of Gretsch Electrics: Half a Century of White Falcons, Gents, Jets, and Other Great Guitars

Brilliant! Many many thanks...

This Gretsch book seems to be a cool thing to have.

Cheerio

the Gretsch Book is great. There are Fender books too. One for amps, one for Strats, one for Telecasters and another of all Fender. For a player and collector os just music fan... fun to have. I have a great Rickenbacker book too. Lest I forget there are a few on Gibson's.
