Guitar Market

I'm in the market for a decent guitar, but also low-priced. I have an idea of the market, but I was wondering if anyone had recommendations.

A friend of mine told me to steer clear of Fender equipment, but I'm not so sure. (he has an Epi Casino)

Any thoughts?

Staying clear of Fender equipment is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

Like any car, every manufacturer has their cadillac, and everyone has their chevy. ultimately its going to depend ON YOU. the desired sound, the feel, the budget, but there are thousands of options, you need to first narrow down what your end goal for sound is.

but for sure, I'd take that piece of "no fender" and shove it! lol! ask edge! he'll tell you! lol

I think he looks at them like some U2 fans look at Vertigo - it's so popular, they detest it.

I'd actually like a black/white or all black strat. I like the sound, especially from The Edge. Any other things you like?

Strats are amazing. Teles are fantastic, but i don't like Tele necks as much as Strat necks.

Fender equipment is among the best in the world. Millions of Fender using guitarplayers can't be wrong. Feck, I will take my Fender Twin Reverb and four Strats with me into the grave.

I suspect your friends hatred towards Fender stems from some bad experience he had (which can happen with any brand) and less from insider knowledge. Otherwise he would have bought a real Gibson guitar instead of an Epiphone.

It's a Mexican Strat cause I needed to go cheap, black with sunburst, I haven't gotten anything special yet, but I intend to get at least a delay and distortion pedal.
