main riff for intro and chorus as far as i can tell

G---9----9-------------------------9----9
D---9----9-------------------------9----9
A---7----7-------------------------7----7
E---X----X------7--10---7--10---X---X

you can hammer on the 7/10 riff on E if you want but i like to play both notes, as are as the beginning goes it sounds like the same power chord as the riff, played on the drum crash, with the high note bono imitates bent note on fret 15 on the G string, anyone got the verses?

I think edge is playing the lower E (ie open e power chord)

D--2--2----2--2-------0-----0-----0
A--2--2----2--2----2-----2------2--
E--0--0----0--0---------------------

I was in the FOS in Horsens, Denmark, yesterday, so I could see The Edge pretty well. He's definitely not playing the lower E. JUSTinPUSHPLAY's seems to be quite close though.

This doesn't seem right.

Judging by the various YouTube footage, it looks more like the first post is closer; the E at the 7th fret.

7th fret also makes sense as it seems this tune was born on a soundstage in Burbank the moment that Edge saw Jimmy Page play "Whole Lotta Love" in front of him.

note on the intro: play E at the 12th fret. needs a little chorus/flange (actually sounds like his korg A3~mysterious way)
synth note is a B

ok to the verse...

Verse:
Picking E (5th string root) ---> Am (6th root)

the way i play the Am
|-X-|
|-5-|
|-5-| again, picking the chords as per usual with edge
|-7-|
|-0-|
|-X-|

play that a bunch of times through (throw in a few edge tricks here and there, whatever sounds good to you.)

from there: 'Pale as snow the flowering rose' bit

E...A...G...C...D (all 6th root)

main riff

Somethings you just cant control
A...G...E
A...G...B

Main Riff

Verse

Solo:
pretty easy (its edge after all)

e|--------12---12----------------------------| x2
B|--10h12---12---10h12p10--8h10p8--7h8p7-5-| something like that

bridge, havent quite figured that out. Edge is sliding down the 6th string starting up at E, i think, mess around with that.

main riff until end

not perfect, especially not the solo, but i dont have a guitar in hand to get it exact.

hope this helps

get plenty of distortion.
bmp around 130.

haha the main riff sounds strikingly similar to whole lotta love.
who was the guitarist edge teamed up with for It Might Get Loud??

wow that worked out great for me.. and i think the guitarist you are thinking of is Jimmy Page?

yeah. thats what is was getting at. sarcasm doesnt translate into typing...

and for the solo, it didnt come out so great when typing from a mobile

should be:

e|----------12-----12---------------------------------| x2
B|--10h12---12---10h12p10--8h10p8--7h8p7-5-| something like that
