Well I'll post this in a thread of it's own since it didn't get much attention in the guitar one.

Code:
U2 - Vertigo ~Bass Tab
Tabbed by Edge89
Standard tuning
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a bass guitar tab for U2's first single Vertigo
from their album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.
Hope it's understandable at all.
Legend:
h=hammer on
p=pull off
s=slide
Intro/Verse (after the spanish count in, "Unos, dos, tres, catorce"):
G|--------------------------------------------------------------
D|------------------------------------------------7-7-7-7p6-5---
A|5-5h7-7p5h7-7p5h7--------------5h7-7p5h7-7p5h7----------------
E|------------------5-5-5-5-4s3--------------------------------- repeat through Verse until Chorus
Chorus:
G|-------------------------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-7-7
A|7-7--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7---7-5-5-5-5-----------------------
E|------------------------------------------------------- repeat once
Start Verse pattern when Bono sings I can feel
Chorus
Then,
(Check me..)
G|---------------
D|---------------
A|7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7 repeat 6 times (=48 times in total)
E|---------------
  then back to Verse pattern.
After that comes the "All of this" part:
G|---------------
D|---------------
A|5-7-7--5-7-5-7-7 repeat 4 times
E|---------------
Extended Chorus (continue playing the normal Chorus part until Bono sings "How to kneel")
Then Verse pattern again and end this mother of all rock tunes on a sweet.
A|-7
Keep in mind that I'm not a bass guitar player in the first place, but actually a guitarist.
I'm not terribly good at reading tab and tend to avoid it since tab gives no information about the duration of a note but I've played this song live now several times and the middle section bit is wrong... the six bar section noted with "check me" above is actually an A note, straight 8 to a bar, not an E which is what the 7th fret on the A string would give you... I would play it on the 12th fret of the A string because this produces a slightly fuller tone than the 7th fret of the D string but otherwise would give the same note... otherwise this notation is as accurate as tab permits. Good job.
the intro of the song seems to be just the following repeated:
G|------------------------------------------------
D|------------------------------------------------
A|5-5h7-7p5h7-7p5h7
E|-----------------------------5-5-5-5-4s3---
also when seeing adam play the song on TOTP, CDUK and the Dublin video he seems to go up the fret board rather than down (weird, maybe he's got some strange tuning) after the bit you've tabbed on the A string but before seeing him I tabbed it pretty much the same as you.
