I want to buy a new guitar but I can't afford a les paul or strat
sso I was thinking of getting an epiphone. My budget is about
€300-€400. Would this be a good choice or is there another type of guitar I should be looking for this price range?

Also does anybody know anything about the new crate 120 watt
amp with the built in 3 channel delay? The music salesman said i was a serious machine but I don't trust him! I read mixed reviews about them.

I first bought a epiphone LP Standard Plus, I didnt really like it, the sound and the neck. So I sold it and bought the Gibson LP Studio, I like Gibson for there wider necks, and easier to play, I couldnt tell much diffrence in sound, just a little messier sounding guitar. My Gibson's neck broke( It accidentally fell down and the neck split) and it is still being repaired, but i think Im going to sell it, and buy a epiphone casino, and Something else. I think you should go to a music store near you and try out some guitars, and whichever you like most, buy!

i say get an Epiphone Les Paul '58 Gold Top. The Gold Tops get better tone than any normal Les Paul. plus it looks exactly like Edge's gold top!

What do you guys think about the Tokai Goldtop les paul?

How does it compare in terms of sound/playability with the Epiphones?

I have never picked up the Tokai g/t but if it's anything like their other guitars then I would expect it to be amazing. I have two Tokais at present which get gigged virtually every weekend and have owned several more over the past few years and they've all been fantastic. Their Fender copies are at least as good as most standard Fenders IMO and generally quite a lot less expensive too. So I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the imput Gragravar.

I'm seriously thinking of picking up a Tokai G/T rather than the Epi G/T as it cost about a 100 to 150 bucks less and if you're correct, it sounds just as good as the Epi.

the Epi 56 gold top with P-90s is a top guitar
ive tried one out and give it thumbs up

youll find the tokai goldtop or standard les paul to be more expensive but prob much much better in the long run

but like a car go test it out:)
in the end your ears are the winner

Have an Epi Les Paul Standard Plus with Seymour Duncan '59er in it and an Epi SG400 with Dimarzio Megadrive in it and like 'm both equally.
Maybe you should check out an Epi G400 (kinda same model as Edge uses in Elevation)...
Or check out a Squier Telecaster Standard with humbucker in the neck (about 280€)...then you've got single-coil (strat sound) and humbucker together (LP sound)...and they supose to be good...
I'm even thinking of selling one of my babies to buy such a Squier Tele....
