Since u2sound is no longer around I thought it would be great to have a place to house the entire list of Edge's rig (or at least the rig that we could know about). I'm talking about everything having to do with guitar. I could care less about his vocal mic preferences, but add it on if you want. I know a lot of stuff is tied to years or eras of the band, so if you know of when approximately it was used include that (primarily effects). I'm thinking I'll start the list, then you can take and add to it (there will be a lot of adding b/c I can probably barely scratch the surface of this set up).

i don't remember bono using a tele during the pop tour, what songs did he use it on? any pics?

I thought the same thing, all of the fender and gretsch stuff is straight from the Fender Europe web site. I found it on google when I was searching for Edge's rig.

WHEN did u2sound go down??!!!!

I'm not sure when, but it hasn't been up for awhile. There is a yahoo group that is kind of pathetic (just because no one uses it, not because of the idea) that was set up in late '04. I'm guessing it was around then. Probably shut down about the same time as U2 guitar archive.

That would be awesome, but I don't know about web page building at all. Not my cup of tea, that's for sure. I think we would need to find out if U2sound was shut down. Otherwise it would be a waste to build it again only to have it shut down.

What else was on u2sound?

From what was posted on the site before it shut down, there was some kind of disagreement between the guys who ran it. It wasn't to do with copyright issues etc.. Web page building is no prob, but the only webspace I have is with my isp. Don't know if that would suffice. The had info on pretty much every piece of Edge gear going.

I know the Edge tends to use certain guitars for certain songs.
can anyone make a few connections to for me? like for which songs does he use his custom gibson les paul or when does he use his gibson explorer?

thanks!

http://edge-equipment.tripod.com/id9.html

scroll up and down and click on places in the top/middle of the page that says guitars, stopboxes, etc.
