Yet it was back to the all black Stratocaster for Brisbane.

Seems that Edge has been experimenting with which Stratocaster for using for "Where The Streets Have No Name".

Melbourne: Not sure which night this was. Edge using a Black w/white pickguard 1970's era Stratocaster (Instead of the all black Start he'd been using over the past few tours.

Yet by Brisbane, he went back to the all black.

I think you may have answered your own question in your Black Falcon / One Tree Hill thread . During the video for Bad he swaps the black strat for the b/w - the black was sounding a little dull (in comparison and for Edge's standards) on the high E (or E flat) so perhaps he was having problems with the bridge pickup. on the flight to Brisbane, Dallas had time to get his soldering iron out and do some surgery? just a theory but that video pretty much tells us that he was certainly having an issue with the black strat.
