I've worked out things a few things on my own so far, such as the main riff to The Miracle and the chord progression for The Troubles. But I thought it'd be nice to start a thread where musicians can post what they've learned in terms of playing any of the new songs. So fire away if you can!

That sounds about right. I was playing around with it last night and was sort of surprised to the see the band using some variation of the 'pop-punk chord progression' once again (I–V–vi–IV progression). It's not far removed from a few other U2 songs either, like the main riff to Magnificent (F#m-C#m-A-E-B-Bm) or the chorus to Lady with the Spinning Head (C#m-A-E-Bm). But yeah, that sounds like something close to this version's. I've seen slightly different ones online for the live version of it.

The Miracle (of Joey Ramone), as they said in the other thread, appears to have a A-G-F progression for the main riff. I was originally thinking that The Troubles' chorus might be G#-F#-C-D, but the sharps might be off by a bit. It sounded okay in the key I was playing those in though, but not so good in other ones.

The main riff for the miracle is spot on,anybody help me out with the rest of the song. Terrible at doing it by ear!

...difficult to put this into chords, itll sound much better if you power chord the bass line. it'll also be better if you palm-mute throughout!

Em - A - Em - (quick one strum) G/B/A/A/B [or just play G]

chorus

Em - Gm - D - Am (?)

the "glastonbury" riff, if played in chords --> E - E - B - D (two strums each)
however i'd prefer just playing the riff and then go back to chords...

Cedarwood Road

Intro (riff) & chorus
C - Em - B - C

Intro (Edge hard riff)
Em - A - Em - A - Em - A - Em - D (listen to the song to get the timing right)

Verse is a breakdown of the riff
Em - A - G - A - C - B (again, listen to the strumming on the track)

not entirely sure about the verse, but it's a start...

Raised by wolves, part of it at least (I think?):
Tune down 1/2 step.

Intro is just this repeated:
G-7-7-7
D-x-x-x
A-5-5-5
E-x-x-x

Chorus is:

G-14--12--14--10--9--7
D--x---x----x----x---x--x
A-12--10--12---8---7--5
E--x---x----x----x---x--x

Still working on the intermediate bits but this should give you guys some ammo. Let me know if I goofed...

The Miracle
Main riff A G F.
The verse sounds like maybe Am G F.
There's a key change for the chorus, it could be G D Bm A, G D A but not sure...

Gah. I goofed. Of course I originally did this late at night... :reject:

When tuning down a half step, it should be this:

Intro is just this repeated:
G-999999999-9999999999
D-------------------------
A-777777777-7777777777
E------------------5555555555

You can hit the A note on the E string to mimic the base line. Sounds good on acoustic.

The little chord splash after the first "I don't believe..." (1:07), I think...:

e-777777
b-888888
G-999999
D-999999

Then there's the Edge delay fill during the "face down on the pillow...". Heavy delay, ~300ms should work fine. Might even be a double delay with the main delay at ~300ms and the second (at half mix) at ~200ms:

e------------------10-10-10-10
b-12-12-12-12----------------10-10-10-10

Chorus is:

G-16--14--16--12--11--9
D--x---x----x----x----x--x
A-14--12--14--10---9--7
E--x---x----x----x----x--x

The little diddle dally at the end (piano):

b-12-12-10-10--15-15-12-12--12-12-10-10--8-5-8-5-8-5-3-5

Nice! The riff at the beginning is something like this:

G---------------------------------------------7-7-9-9
A---------------------------------------------5-5-7-7
E--0-0-0-5p3-0-0-0-5p3-0-0-0-5p3

Repeat that a few times, and then:

A--7-5--------------
E--------7-5-3-2-0
