Hey i've been watchinbg this song some times and i've been discovering some loops used. In the guitar solo in the 1:45 min i think he is using Whammy+DM4+SDD but i've been looking the other pats but i can't discover. I've been looking the midi patch MR8 from his rack. COuld someone help me?

the pog in breathe?... i dont hear that

its either the tube drive or TS-9 Sim on the DM4
for the basic drive sounds. if you listen to Dublin
night 3 you can hear the whammy for the 'chorus'
the pitchshift part(edge mucks up a bit too as the
whammy tracking sounds a bit off! i had notes on
my pc but had a pc breakdown recently and no
access yet to my sata drive.using my old laptop
just now..

BB MAC! You're a genius! It's been bothering me for years what that was that he did to muck up. I heard it from one of the Bootlegs on the internet, even tried mucking it up myself to find out what it was, but could never get it!

WO WO WO WO! Hate to change the subject (As always) But anyone notice the hollow body in the back there? Is that the Gibson Edge used for one at the Clinton concert? Or is it another Casino?

I think there is already a thread. It was a Gibson.

And I am pretty sure Dallas mentioned that the POG was on that particular pitch part on Breathe. But, I could be wrong.

At the beginning of the main riff the edge press a loop in the skrydstrup and the sound change. Look at the video. Sound has more bass and i think he adds another amp. Might be the harvard.

Breathe sounds like such a simple song...but I guess it really is not effects wise

pretty sure the 'EH POG' was used for the verses on Magnificent.
later on in the tour 'Moment of Surrender live' verses .maybe
also 'Crazy tonight' studio and early tv show performance?

heres Dublin night 3 with the muck up @ 04.42. it looks like he has
hit a preset and the 'whammy' tracking is slighty off.either way its
pitch shifting on the 'Chorus' many units can replicate it;-)

I think that for the main riff he uses overdrive + Harvard. Chorus: dm4 + whammy

I've always assumed it's the POG, but the 27th footage would be a strong hint that it's actually a Whammy because he's not playing any wrong notes there, it's just the pedal position which wasn't in park position. Very interesting, will have to try that out.

Just a note: I'm talking about using the harmony on the Whammy, NOT pitch shift! I also don't think (and am somewhat sure) like E_O that this is NOT a pitch shift, because you can distinctly hear that it's as if he's playing two strings at different octaves --> harmony! The pitch shift would simply shift you up and down the octave without that effect.

Anyway, I tried the WH harmony (octave up) and got a satisfying result for that section which sounded very very good (tried it in pitch shift one octave up and it sounds dead wrong). Hooked up the EHX POG I and tried again and I have to say, I think he's using the POG I because although my settings aren't perfect, the sound is much more authentic.

Also, I wouldn't really understand why he'd have a POG and NOT use it for harmony (which is much more advanced than the simple WH-1 harmony settings), but rather use the harmony from the WH-1 when he's only using that for pitch shifting.

Anyone who has a POG I, the "Edge settings" are almost clearly visible from the Barca rehearsal pics. Once you get the settings you can tell he's using that for Breathe, Magnificent, NLOTH, Crazy Tonight and MOS!

did a sound sample. i have a old Whammy ll but need a adaptor for it.
used my 98 Epi les paul and chain went super simple ->Zoom G1X->IBanez
PDM-1 Modulated delay->Vox Amplug->M-audio micro->Laptop
(Amplug needs new batterys hence the slight cliping)

tried the harmony on the zoom but no joy so used preset D8 which
has pitchshift.my old Whammy ll has harmony octave up + down
which i used on 'love and peace live' the bells part and i think
'Sometimes' ? with the Shimmer with my old band W2.

can you post a clip using the harmony mode and the Pog plz just
curious to hear.

am thinking again maybe edge just hit the wrong loop and then kicked
in the proper one with his right foot be it whammy or Pog.the Pog
does make more sense with new album/new gear.
