For all us Edge emulators out there; what is the preferential delay of choice to get that early U2 sound? Go the precise digital option; or the warmer, softer analog sound?

i like analog better, but for some songs, like Streets or UTEotW, where you really gotta hear the delay, digital sounds better.

im still deciding between a memory man and a DD6 - i like the warm analog delay but want the precision of digital.

The problem with the memory man is it can be quite difficult to set it to the correct tempo. Most digital delays have a tap-tempo, which lets you tap a switch to the beat to get perfectly timed delay, which is essential for a rhythmic song like Streets. I would reccomend the Line 6 Echo Park delay, it's much much warmer and more analog sounding than the DD6.

get a memory man for the real early stuff boy/oct/war

then move up to a rack modulation delay for unfor fire/joshua tree
ect

theres lots to choose from now if you cant afford
sum of the stuff edge uses..ibanez/roland/yamaha/line6
boss DD20 and more

it has to be a modulation delay!
boss DD5/DD6 are to plain and digital
sounding delays

cheers BB Mac

digital delay on the boss GT6
dont think it does a modulation delay?
there maybe a Analogue type delay but not sure
you could add sum vibrato effect to smooth it out i know sum people who use that on the GT-5

also the preamp section use voxy drive
to get that 60s liverpool vox sound ala Edge

hope that helps cheers BB Mac
