Adam Clayton Custom Shop Pickups?

Hey everyone, I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about these:

Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Adam Clayton Jazz Bass Set | eBay

I've never seen them before (they say Clyton on them, but it's probably a misprint) but I wanted to know where the heck they came from? Any ideas E_O?

I hadn't heard about these. Interesting. I'm wondering how the seller got ahold of them?

First thought is, were they ends? Pickups that were made for Adam but not used/given to him as they were not up to snuff.

I will have to look into that a bit more.

Depends.

1) Were they custom-made or sold in stores to the general public?
2) Are the pickups in question genuine? It looks like a sticker reading Adam Clyton was added.

Could be legit. Could not be.

It could be that Fender made a handful for Adam and someone got the 'seconds' that weren't up to spec.

Other than the auction, has anyone seen them online - musiciansfriend or the like? Any online reviews? That might lead more faith in the claim that they are Adam Clayton model jazz pickups.
