Look folks. I've been a fan as long as half of you and longer than most of you. I love these guys and I want it as badly as the rest of you. . . BUT Wake UP, unless you have real intel, stop wasting our time. I'm now grown up, married, two kids, working with the economy and the web and I have become the ultimate lurker, relying on YOU, to provide me with the goods. Yes, I'm selfish!

I do not have time to waste scrubbing every thread to find out when the album leaked, when Bono was having dinner with my neighbor (BTW, that would never happen without my knowledge) etc.! My point is, let us be good to Interference and write what we need to but in the appropriate place. I assure you I am not the only lurker or fan who thinks the kids are quite annoying (for lack of better words) when you think you are smart or funny reporting you have some junk on the band. When it happens it happens and lots of us know it does happen in time - and BTW we love it!!

My point is. . .there have been some threads and posts with some fans thinking they were funny (which BTW were minorities). Let it go, and let's leave the "Where the Album Has No Name" alive for "real" intel of what's about to happen!

DreamOutLoud. . ., I appreciate your response, but I think it's beyond sticky's. I have no problem with fans joking around but I always counted on "Where the Album Has No Name" as a resource --I'm sorry that I actually count on this forum for real news (Maybe I'm ignorant as well - I did say I was a lurker -- justified by my lifestyle. . . hopefully not trying to rationalize my job, family, and extra curricular activities) I won't elaborate, as I respect the moderators who have an arduous task ahead of them each day. However, as naive as this may sound, I always found it easy to filter through this thread for good stuff and lately (most likely a result of the delay) there's been tons of garbage. (Which BTW, I'm sure I'll get flamed for mentioning).

Yes, but even that thread has been derailed. I'm all for a thread that contains only fact, infos and CONFIRMED rumors, but some people apparently aren't able to keep it like that.

Apart from that, I understand people want to have fun, speculate, imagine, make up crap, whatever, because they are bored waiting for the new album.

Personally, I'm not bored and I have other things to concentrate on. Maybe we should start a thread for advise for those who don't know what to do with their time or how to find some distraction while waiting. I'd have some great suggestions.
 
I saw the title and thought there was real info. The thread itself contradicts your purpose for writing. People have the right to converse, and if you have to click the mouse 4 or 5 more times than if people weren't conversing, well I quite frankly don't give a shit
 
Dan, you have got to be kidding! The title of this thread in no way has a context of suggesting this is news about the new album. Have you ever heard the phrase "Wake Up and Smell The Coffee" (basically meaning "Are you lost - here you go, this is the way") IN all respect I apologize for posting it here -which BTW was the antithesis of the message you are receiving. So I apologize to you and Sicy but read it again. And now I'm wasting another true "Blue Crack Addict's" time explaining this. But when the album or single comes out I would come out with a more extraordinary header if I wanted your attn.

I actually thought there had been some track leaks or something. How disappointing... So there's nothing new to smell?
 
It's not the fact that people are trying to be funny that makes me mad. What makes me mad is that they're not funny.
 
Yeah this thread kinda wasted my time....all over one poster's frustration...This forum is not perfect but it is indeed the best we have. I was able to listen to 2 prev albums early thanks to interference...just deal with it... The album will drop here first and we will :angry:all know it when that happens... Just Deal, buddy...
 
But isn't this thread exactly like the kinds of threads you're complaining about?

The mods try to keep this forum as clean as possible with respect to real information, but the fact is there will always be some 'wading through threads' to find the information you're looking for and threads will always be derailed and/or go off topic. It's just inevitable. The search function is a nice tool and anyone can use it now so may I suggest using that if you're having trouble finding specific information.

Great point. Okay I have a suggestion! Sicy, lock that sticky thread so that only you or another mod can update that thread everytime there is legitimate news. Simple. :shrug:

I somehow knew this thread would be yet another disappointment before I even clicked on it. How about if you start a thread that looks like news about the new album, you actually HAVE NEWS ABOUT THE ALBUM!! Huh, imagine that. I think when we actually get real, solid news about the album, things will be so ass backward here that it'll probably end up in a thread titled "Edge's Moustache circa 1997: Too Porno or not: Your thoughts?" or something to that effect; because every time I see a thread titled "Where the album has a name" or "Wake up and smell the new album" or things that look like legitimate news about the album, its usually somebody thinking they are hilarious or someone whining. How about if you're going to complain about people not posting anything news-worthy, you don't commit the same crime yourself!

This part of the forum is full of crap and fake news because there is no real news right now. And we're all really bored. :yawn: I'm frustrated at this, too, but starting a grouchy thread isn't gonna make January come any faster.

I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect that there is some major piece of information, or a leak, or more beach clips, or ANYTHING with a thread title like wake up and smell the new album.

You have only succeeded in contradicting yourself by providing more idle bulk in this forum. Most people here indulge in the idle chatter as a form of passing the time. Talking to U2 fans about why we haven't got news or interpretations of the news we do have.

I'm sorry, but I find it extremely pig-headed that someone can expect that EVERY other member of the forum will stop talking to each other, stop posting and conversing about the new album, just so they can find the information easily when it comes out.

And if you say you would have come out with a more extraordinary header if you had something amazing to tell, why can't you decipher the wheat from the chaff in other peoples titles??? You expected me to?
