Wrote a really long response on that Daily Beast review and how I feel about the record after living with it for a month and going into the new year, but accidentally deleted it.

I...I will begin again.

Oh wow I love that Daily Beast review.

I like it also, it’s my favourite review of it so far. Like I said before, knowing how much passion and earnestness they put into this project makes me wish I liked the record more than I do. Thematically I personally find what they were trying to do very appealing on a personal level.

I listened to zooropa the other day cause my wife brought it me on vinyl. Great record.

Ugh, stop trying to make Ordinary Love happen Obama.

I feel like I’m in the minority, but I kinda like OL.

I’ve always liked it. Never loved it. I wish Bono wasn’t so wordy in the verses. Always seemed a bit off kilter to me but I still really enjoy the chorus and overall atmosphere of the song.

Some of those songs sound like obligatory inserts suggested by his staff.

-"Um, Mr. President, U2 did play at your inauguration, sooo...."
-"Whatever, fine. You pick something."
-"Well, Bono did write a song about Nelson Mandela"
-"Yeah. Perfect. Use that one."

I feel like they would be more likely to suggest one of the Kendrick guest songs.

I knooooow!

It was only because they played it on the Oscars.

We all remember how Hands That Built America had a similar bump into the top 100 after the Oscars.

Wait, what's that Lassie?

I didn't say anything. I was merely complimenting your accurate statement that this song hit the Hot 100 with a picture of them performing Ordinary Love at the Oscars.....a week before it hit the Hot 100.
